Belief in God’s holy books is the third pillar of faith, namely the belief that God Almighty has revealed His holy books to His messengers as a guide for humanity’s life, ensuring safety in this world and the hereafter.
Books that must be believed:
Torah – revealed to Prophet Musa AS
Zabur – revealed to the Prophet David AS
Gospel – revealed to Prophet Isa AS
Al-Qur’an – revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW as a perfecting and closing book
Functions of Allah’s books:
Become a guide to human life
Distinguish between right (hak) and wrong (batil)
Regulating human relationships with God and fellow humans
The wisdom of believing in Allah’s books:
Increase gratitude for guidance from Allah
Cultivate love for the Koran
Motivating oneself to read and practice the contents of the Al-Qur’an in daily life, the Al-Qur’an is the last book whose authenticity is directly protected by Allah SWT until the end of time (QS. Al-Hijr: 9).
