Poster Design

I created this poster in Affinity Designer, arranging the images, text, and colors in separate layers to allow for more flexibility in editing each element and ensure they don’t interfere with each other.

The overarching concept I adopted was the cool, refreshing feel typical of soft drink advertisements. The main element is a red Coca-Cola can, which I positioned tilted in the center, with water droplets on its surface to enhance the “fresh-from-the-fridge” impression. I chose the red and white color palette because it aligns with Coca-Cola’s visual identity and creates a striking and energetic impression.

For the background, I created a large, diagonally repeating “COCA COLA” text, stacked from the top left corner to the bottom right. I used this technique to create a more dynamic and open-plan poster, while still allowing the product can to be the primary focus of the eye. To add supporting detail, I included an illustration of ice cubes in the top left corner and a second tilted can in the top right corner to enhance the composition. In the bottom left corner, I included a chicken/fries element to give the impression that the product pairs well with food. I encased the price information “Rp 8,500” in a red circle in the bottom right corner for easy reading as a promotional message, and placed the official Coca-Cola logo in the bottom center to close out the composition.

Technically, I relied heavily on the Move Tool to position each object, the Artistic Text Tool for the large text in the background, the Ellipse Tool to shape the price tag, and Layer, Opacity, and Shadow Effect settings to create a sense of space and depth. The biggest challenge was arranging the repetitive text in the background to keep it neat and uncluttered, while also ensuring the product can stood out even amidst the dense text.
